The Blues & Roots Radio International Song Of The Year Competition is a song contest with the mission to provide the opportunity for both aspiring and established songwriters to have their songs heard on a professional, international award winning platform.
This is our fourth year for the competition which is an annual event, It is designed to nurture the musical talent of songwriters on all levels, both amateur and professional, and promote excellence in the art of song craft.
CASH PRIZES
We are delighted to announce this year that we will be giving a monetary prize to each of the three category winners, and the overall winner will receive our annual award PLUS an additional cash prize, thanks to the ongoing support of our sponsors.
Category Winners Receive $250 CAD
Overall Winner Receives Additional $750 CAD PLUS Our Annual Award
In previous years we have seen many artists submit multiple songs, this year we offer a discount, anyone submitting three songs will only have to pay $20 instead of $30 admin fee.
The entry payment is to cover our admin fees.

There is no release date restriction
Once a payment is made an online submission form link will be sent, this must be completed and submitted for entry into the competition make sure to include your payment receipt number on the form as verification.
There is no limit to the amount of songs submitted by each artist, each song submission requires the $10 USD entry fee.
You can enter three songs and only make payment for two (3 songs $20 USD entry fee)

Winning Songs
A winning entry will be chosen for all categories and an overall winner will be chosen from the winning entries in each category.
All songs will be judged by an independent panel of jurors who are currently in the music industry from Canada. USA, UK and Australia, a number of whom sit on regional and national award panels. Three categories, Solo Male, Solo Female and Duo / Trio / Group will each have fifteen finalists, with an overall winner for each category to be announced in January 2022.
An overall winner chosen from one of the winning songs in each category will be announced at the end of January 2022.

Prizes will be awarded jointly to all authors of any song; division of prizes is the responsibility of the winners. MP3 and lyric sheets will not be returned.
Contest is open to amateur and professional songwriters of all ages.
